Gunsmith House, Birmingham

Value - £12.2m | Client - Elevate Property Group

A residential development including the restoration of a locally listed property.

Situated on the southern edge of Birmingham’s historic Gun Quarter, Gunsmith House was once home to the finest gunmakers in the world. After falling into disrepair the historic site has been given a new lease of life, whilst maintaining it’s distinctive industrial character. The development provides 85 new residential apartments, many with their own balconies and all benefiting from landscaped gardens.

Designed by local architects, K4, and delivered by Birmingham based developers, Elevate Property Group, the restoration of the existing and locally listed Gunsmith House, provides 46 one-bedroom, 38 two-bedroom and one three-bedroom apartments. Alongside the restoration of the existing building, the scheme includes three new linked blocks of four and five storeys.

The scheme provides parking provision, with a number of electric vehicle charging points, ample cycle storage and two private landscaped courtyards within the new gated community.

Sustainability credentials include a SAPS rating ‘B’, the installation of photovoltaics and a biodiversity roof on the main building.
